RDRC Welcomes the Business Outreach Center

As an extension to the Business and Professional Services Division of RDRC, a Business Outreach Center opened its doors for entrepreneurs seeking technical and financial assistance regarding their business endeavor. Annette Cohen, the BOC consultant, will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to provide one-on-one business counseling.

Cohen has been working with Rockaway businesses, specifically the local merchants, sincethe BOC was located at Councilmember James Sanders office at 20-10 Seagirt Boulevard. Her expertise in providing assessments and referrals increases the capacity of RDRC to further promote economic growth in the Rockaways. Cohen says, "I look forward to the joint venture with BOC and RDRC to provide one-on-one counseling and technical assistance to the existing businesses and the potential new business. This collaboration also intends to develop economic growth for the Rockaway community".

• Personalized needs assessments

and counseling

• Seminars

• Fundamental Business Planning

• Referrals

• Microlending (up to $25,000.00)

As a Rockaway resident and community leader, Cohen is well aware of the services needed in the Rockaways. She is a member of Community Board #14 and sits on the Community Advisory Board of St. John’s Hospital. "I do plan to continue an active roll in this community and hope to utilize my insight to assist the local merchants when I meet with them." says Ms. Cohen.
