Who – What – Why – Where and When?

This group photograph came to us without any sort of identification. My first guess is that it was taken inside one of the hotels located in Irishtown, Rockaway, U.S.A.

It appears that foodstuffs were being collected by this organization for war relief in Europe, or to feed the needy here during the Great Depression. I might stick my neck out and say the time period is between 1935 and 1945. The military cap on the gentleman in the top corner bears the number 272.

When I first saw this photo, I fell in love with the girl on the right wearing the chain-link print dress.

Can anyone out there in Waveland supply information – and perhaps names for this great photo?
