A Day At The Polo
Grounds

Sometime during the 1930’s, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rockaway Post #1498 was invited to the Polo Grounds with their drum and bugle corp.

The Polo Grounds was the home of the New York Giants baseball team until 1958 and their move to the west coast.

What the occasion was is unknown, but the stands behind the group are full of children. No names came with the photo and I only recognize the fellow in the Marine uniform at the left. It is my uncle Fred "Tugboat" Magic!

There is a message written on the back, which asks – "do you remember these fellow at the Polo Grounds?" It is signed Seth.

Does anyone out there in Waveland have any information concerning this photo? Let us hear from you.
