Beatles Music Coming
Gossip! You heard it here first: the cast of Beatlemania will be dining at Dan Tubridy’s Pier 92 Restaurant on Saturday evening, November 22 just prior to their performance at Beach Channel High School. Why not wine and dine at the Pier and catch a glimpse of the cast? It’s always good food and good friends at Dan’s, a great way to start the evening.
The concert should be great.
The group received wonderful press when they were on Broadway and played to full houses.
We are not expecting anything less in Rockaway. Come on over to Beach Channel High School and meet and greet your neighbors and possibly meet the cast after the performance.
As I type this, we are trying to work that out with them. Many times in the past we have had a meet and greet after a concert and it was fun for everyone, artists and guests alike.
In addition to the concert, raffles will be sold for some very interesting gifts.
Included among them is a wonderful book entitled "The Beatles: Unseen Archives." This is a 383 page hardcover book. It is a chron-ology of the Beatles from their start in Liverpool up to the recent death of George Harrison. For any Beatles fan this is a must-have book. Though we can’t have the Beatles autograph it, possibly the cast will do the honors.
Over the years, the music became more sophisticated and the Beatles themselves have become part of the culture. While each generation has their groupies, from Sinatra to P. Diddy, I don’t think there is any group that can compare to the Fab Four.
This Sunday evening, there will be a special event at the Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall.
You can shop till you drop from 7p.m. to 10p.m. Most of the shops will have great discounts just for the evening.
For a fee of $10, which goes to a Roosevelt Field charity, you can be part of a wonderful evening of shopping and events.
The Rockaway Music and Arts Council is one of the sponsors and will be providing tickets to the event.
If you are interested in attending on Sunday evening, I would suggest you stop at Beach Channel High School on Saturday evening and the Beatlemania concert.
