Fines for Windshield Advertisements
The NYPD and Department of Sanitation will begin ticketing people for the placement of advertisements on windshields effective November 1. Fines start at $75 per handbill, poster, sticker or advertisement. Sanitation commissioner John Doherty praised the law that allows for the enforcement of "an annoying act that causes litter, unsightly streets, and lower scorecard ratings."
