Student Photogs Enter WaMu Competition
Grant-winning students from Brian Piccolo M.S. 53 were given a digital camera and the assignment to capture candid shots of public servants at work – part of Washington Mutual and the New York Historical Society’s "Home of the Free" competition.
Math Facilitator Ellen Lee secured the grant for the students, and Art teacher Norma Allende led them on several excursions with their brand new camera.
Students visited a local firehouse, their school’s dental office, and took photos on the street to complete their assignment. All of the pictures they submitted can be viewed at www.WaMuHomeoftheFree.com.
