Local Farmers ‘Squash’ Competition Again


A family of Arverne agriculturalists took home prizes for their impressive crops at the Harvest Fair 2003 presented by Green Thumb, the New York City Parks and Recreation Department’s community gardening program. Wajeedah Anderson-Beyah, left, her son Fareed, and daughter Wajeedah, from the God’s Battal­ion/Loving Care Center, took home prizes for their squash, watermelon, and flowers.
