BCHS Hosts New Addabbo Project

BCHS Hosts New Addabbo Project

The Addabbo Project for Rockaway Youth in Leadership and Education (APRYLE) is a new and unique after school program beginning at Beach Channel High School.  Students enrolled in the APRYLE Project have an opportunity to work with elementary school children from PS 183, who are in need of one-on-one mentoring, tutoring and homework help.  The APRYLE project will not only nurture younger students in need of special education, but also provide BCHS students with community service, leadership skills, and a generous stipend.

Guidance Counselor Stephen Schaikowitz, is the APRYLE Education Coordinator. Despite recent unrest and protest by some members of the Beach Channel community, the majority of staff members and students continued their efforts to maintain a positive learning atmosphere within the building that day.  The APRYLE project is off to a great start!
