Rockaway Lacrosse Provides Opportunities For Kids

Rockaway Lacrosse Provides Opportunities For Kids

On Saturday, October 4, 2003, the true spirit of Rockaway sports, "Lacrosse", was initiated. Beach Channel High School played host to over 60 youth (ages 7-12) to learn American’s first game.

The response was super and the excitement of the kids and parents was tremendous according to Coach Greg Carter, who along with Coaches Dan Kirk and Tony Reyes was present to teach the game. Right now, our status is stable.

Coach Dan Kirk says that an indoor facility is needed for winter practices.

Our goal is to take the kids from clinic status to forming our own team. Any youth interested in participating in a sport where you do not necessarily have to be the biggest and/or fastest and if any youth and the parents feel that Lacrosse can bring educational opportunities, feel free to contact Coach Dan Kirk at 718-945-2823.

Pictured with Rockaway’s biggest lacrosse clinic at Beach Channel High School is Tim Kelly, attackman for
the Long Island Lizards. The coaches wish to personally thank Tim and Lacrosse Unlimited (East Meadow) for sponsoring Rockaway’s best ever lacrosse clinic.
