The first graders give pennies to the jar called “Pennies for the Poor!” Money is collected by Pre-K teacher Mrs. Redmond and given to those in need. The parents were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed reading the letters left by the children welcoming their parents to the classroom. The first graders celebrated the Blessed Mother’s Birthday on September 8. They walked over to a statue of Mary and presented her with a birthday crown. The first grades remember 9/11 by singing patriotic songs and then by leaving the building at the end of the day by waving their own American flag.
