Local Artists Exhibit at Ellis Island

Local Artists Exhibit at Ellis Island

“Gateway to Nature: Eleven Artists View Gateway National Recreation Area,” an exhibition of paintings, drawings, and photographs opened in the Ellis Island Immigration Museum Gallery on Sunday, October 12th. Among the eleven artists presenting their work were locals Stephen S. Yaeger, oils and drawings; Joseph Rothenberg, photographs; and Martha Elliott Killian, watercolors. The exhibition, presented by Gateway National Recreation Area and curated by GNRA Ranger Dave Taft, who is also exhibiting his work, reflects the influence that the park’s environment has upon the artists. The exhibit, beautifully presented with a variety of subject matter, will run through January 11, 2004.
