PHC Auxiliary Discusses Diabetes

PHC Auxiliary Discusses Diabetes

The Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary welcomed Perry Herson, MD, Director of the Diabetes Center at Peninsula Hospital Center.  Dr. Herson discussed Diabetes and the effects it can have on someone’s well being. “The importance of diabetes education cannot be understated,” says Dr. Herson. “Studies show that far too many diabetes patients fail to receive the necessary levels of self-management training and monitoring services recommended by the American Diabetes Association. It’s our task at the Diabetes Center at PHC to be an easy-to-access resource for all aspects of diabetes care.” The next PHC Auxiliary meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 4 at Noon in the Meditation Room. All interested parties are welcome to attend each luncheon and encouraged to join the Auxiliary. Further information on the Auxiliary is available from the Peninsula Hospital Center’s Public Affairs office, 718 734-2506. Pictured, the Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary welcomed Perry B.
