RAA’s next general meeting is Monday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. in building T-149. Nominations for members of the Board of Directors will take place. Guest presenter for the evening is Jeffrey Berman, who will discuss and demonstrate the use of computer technology to produce mixed media fine art. Berman will talk about the computer programs Photoshop and Painter. During the Q & A he will also entertain questions regarding digital photography, which he uses as a basis for his artwork.

Martha Elliott Killian, Joseph Rothenberg, Stephen Yaeger and Dave Taft, of the Gateway National Recreation Area Office of Interpretation, are four of the eleven artists participating in "Gateway to Nature," an exhibition at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. The works reflect the eleven artists’ connection to Gateway National Recreation Area, in a variety of media. The exhibit dates are October 11, 2003 – January 11, 2004. The opening reception is Sunday, October 12 from 1:30 to 4 p.m..

Call to RAA member artists: RAA members are invited to submit artworks for the exhibition "Gifted: A Holiday Member Exhibition." The theme: Everyone is gifted in one way or another. Each artist is encouraged to show off her or his own particular gift, favorite subject or technique. Exhibition dates are November 8, 2003-January 11, 2004. The opening reception is Sunday, Nov 9, 2003 at 1-3 p.m. in sTudio 6 Gallery, Fort Tilden, GNRA.

Submission is by the artworks themselves (i.e. not by slides and photos). The deadline for submission of artworks is Sunday, October 26, 4-6 p.m. or Saturday, November 1, 1-3 p.m.. Submissions must be brought to sTudio 6 Gallery, Fort Tilden. Size and number limits are as follows: 3 artworks may be submitted if they are 16" x 20" or less. 1 or 2 pieces may be submitted if they are larger than 16" x 20". Please include in submission:

List the artist, title, medium, dimensions and price for all works, a label, taped or pasted to the back of each artwork, with the corresponding information for each work: Artist statement, biography/resume (email to RAA or submit by disk or CD, if possible).

Only artworks that were not in previous RAA exhibitions will be accepted. Only paid up RAA members who have joined by our Oct. 13, 2003 general meeting are eligible. Artworks can be of various media including, but not limited to: Original paintings, limited
