St. John’s Residence for Boys celebrated its 135-year history with a dinner celebration, last week.

More than 150 guests, comprised of past and present administrators and employees, residents, volunteers, religious and political leaders and honorees, attended the event at Russo’s On the Bay.

Among those honored was Rockaway Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Liz Sulik who received the "Community Service Award." John J. Bennett, Jr., Esq. received the "Spirit Award," and Father Paul Landolfi, S.M., was awarded the "Lieutenant Kevin Dowdell, FDNY, Alumni Award," which is named in memory of a firefighter lost on September 11.

St. John’s Residence for Boys was founded in Brooklyn in 1866.
