St. Rose Hosts ‘Be Not Afraid Family Hours’
"With burdens and pressures mounting against family life, the Apostolate for Family Consecration (AFC) offers a solution through weekly family prayer in homes and churches," says Rita Sweeney, a spokesperson for St. Rose of Lima Church.
For that reason, the "Be Not Afraid Family Hours" are being held at Saint Rose of Lima’s Perpetual Adoration Chapel, 130 Beach 84 Street for the next eight Tuesday evenings. (On October 7, it will be at 7:00 p.m. followed by Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. On the other Tuesdays, the program will begin at 7:30 p.m.).
"These Family Hour programs, inspired by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, have been shown to bring family healing and promote unity within the family and community," states Jerry Coniker, founder of the AFC, producer of the series.
The topics of the next eight weeks on The Holy Rosary are: The Living Rosary, The Joyful Mysteries, The Agony in the Garden, The Meaning of Suffering, The Cross and Crucifixion, The Rosary and Meditation, The Glorious Mysteries, and Mary’s Triumph.
"Plan to come to these holy hours and bring your families and friends, especially the children," Sweeney says.
