Selma Frank To Be Honored

Rockaway Park Hadassah’s Co-chairpersons Rita Van Leer and Emily Cennamo have announced the Youth Aliyah Luncheon on Tuesday, October 14 at the Washington Hotel will pay tribute to Selma Frank.

Frank is a long-time member and strong supporter of Hadassah’s principles.

Youth Aliyah helps thousands of children 12 to 18 from all parts of the world that have come to Israel. Here "children at risk," often without family, friends and funds, are given the chance to achieve a promising and secure life. Youth Aliyah funds provide hope for these young people.

Frank has been a strong advocate of this project over the years as well as having held countless positions in the Chapter.

Her roots go back to early membership in Junior Hadassah in Brooklyn. She became involved in the local chapter in 1950 when she joined the Zipporah Group after moving to Belle Harbor as a newlywed.

Thereafter she began a loving journey to the present day. Among her varied accomplishments include serving as President of the Evening Zipporah Group (1954), Overall Chapter President of Rockaway Park Hadassah (1992), plus countless committees and fundraisers, which she chaired and supervised. At present her involvement with Life Membership has proven an outstanding success.

Reservations for the luncheon are necessary and can be made by calling Chairperson Ruth Van Leer.
