A Stride Forward For Integrative Medicine

Integrative medicine is growing roots in every community. Hospitals are designing Complementary and Integrative Centers in an effort to bring holistic health care opportunities to people as an adjunct and an alternative to traditional, allopathic medicine. Educating the public is critical to effective use of these Complementary and Alternative therapies (CAM).

On September 25 and 26, a landmark conference was held under the superlative direction of Dr. Molly Punzo, Director of Integrative Medicine at Hartford Hospital. An unprecedented affiliation of three area hospitals, The University of Connecticut Health Center, Hartford Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, brought HOMEOPATHY AND AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES to medical doctors, medical students and practitioners of alternative medicine.

The introduction of the concepts of alternative medicine to this group bodes well for the treatment of autoimmune disorders. Autoimmune disorders have been particularly difficult to manage with traditional medicine and homeopathy has much to offer to people with these conditions.

Health & Harmony

Wellness Education, Rockaway’s own resource center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, offers classes on this and other topics and serves as an avenue to integration with other health practitioners. Please call for a schedule of classes or design your own class! Ask and you shall receive. Education is about empowering people to create well-being in their own lives and the lives of those that they love. Mind-body medicine is no longer a phrase of the future. It is a living reality and accessible to all. Call 718-634-4577 for more information or e-m askDrNancy@aol.com.
