BCAC Ponies Win Nailbiter Over Plainedge By Brian McMahon

The BCAC Ponies emerged victorious with a 13-8 win over an undefeated Plainedge team. Quarterback Bubba McMahon scored the first touchdown of the game on a 2-yard quarterback sneak. John McCarthy threw the extra point to Nick Mastros to make it 7-0. Other fine offensive plays included spectacular runs by Seamus Kelly and Chris Berrios. The second touchdown was scored by John McCarthy with an 8 yard run behind his reliable offensive line which includes: Phil D’Agostino, George Yodice, Anthony Acevdo, Terrence Hickey and Eli Malahias.

The Sharock defense was unrelenting, shutting down the Plainedge offense. The defense was led by: Franke Laino, John Alite, Jesse Macrae, Sean Kelly, Cameron Douglin, Gerard Zimmermann and Seamus Kelly. Seamus Kelly’s interception in the final minutes closed the door for Plainedge. Other Shamrock team members delivered great effort in helping to secure the win: Andrew Guttieri, Eddie Warren, John Murray and Conor McAuley. The Shamrocks will face Amityville on Sunday, September 28 and will return home the following weekend. Come see some great football.
