SJEH Marks Graduation of Residents and Interns

Graduation of seven residents and 15 interns took place at the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore recently. "It was a great program that changed my preaching and theology," explained Chaplain Guerschon Saint Ange. "In the hospital I see people dying and embracing death and because of that I’m not afraid and can help others face death without fear and counsel my parishioners a lot better," he added. Ending the ceremony that evening were (from left to right): Margaret Carpenter, President, Development Board, and Vice President, Board of Managers, Episcopal Health Services Inc.; Arnold Katz, Chief Financial Officer, Episcopal Health Services Inc.; Archdeacon Peter Golden, Episcopal Archdiocese, Brooklyn; and the Reverend Dr. Joel Harvey, Vice President, Pastoral Care, Episcopal Health Services Inc.

The graduation ceremony was also an occasion for singing and rejoicing. Among the celebrants were (from left to right): Chaplain Mimi Ukaegbu; Reverend Francine Angel, graduating supervisory resident; Sister Anastasia Iduma; and in the foreground, Father Dennison Richards, Director of Pastoral Care, Bishop Charles Waldo MacLean Nursing Home. The graduation ceremony was also an occasion for singing and rejoicing.
