Rotary District Governor ‘Bears Up’ To Rockaway Visit

Rotary District Governor ‘Bears Up’ To Rockaway Visit

Rotary District 7250 Governor, Katherine M. Gibson, visited with the Rockaway Rotary Club last Wednesday, September 12, 2003 at the club’s regular meeting spot, Snug Harbour restaurant. Gibson was presented with a gift of a Rockaway Rotary Teddy Bear, ‘Rockie,’ to be a companion to the governor’s own traveling bear and "confidant", Montague M. Bear. Pictured, from left, are Rotary club secretary Nancy Hanson, president of Roxbury USA, whose company manufactures the bears, Governor Gibson, and club president Patrick Russell.

Not to be outdone, the clubs “perpetual president” Barbara J. Morris, of West End Realty, made a gift of the popular Rockaway Beach quilt to Governor Gibson. Club member and local attorney John Howley looks on approvingly. Not to be outdone, the clubs “perpetual president” Barbara J.
