The Forms, a band with roots in the Rockaway Peninsula, made the charts in the September 18 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine.

In years past the band rehearsed in houses on Beach 113, 119 and 121 Streets and played at Patrick’s, the Rockaway Beach Boulevard restaurant that was damaged in a fire this summer.

Band member Matt Walsh, aka Acquaman, grew up in Rockaway and lived on Beach 113 Street. Classmates might remember him from his days at M.S. 180 and P.S. 114. Ed McKenna, aka Brendan Kenny, lived in Roxbury and another member, Ecco Teres lived here briefly as well. Jackson Kenny, the remaining member, is from Seacliff, Long Island.

The Forms just finished a coast-to-coast tour during which they played in more than 20 states. They are playing in Manhattan at Sin-e, on September 26 and then will head to Montreal for a show on the 27.
