4,600 Vote In East End Councilmanic Primary
Fewer than 5,000 people voted last Tuesday in the Councilmanic District 31 Democratic primary between the incumbent James Sanders, Jr., and challenger Everly Brown.
The final count showed that 4,600 people voted in the primary, 3,469 of them for Sanders and 1,131 for Brown.
That gave Sanders 75 percent of the tally and Brown 25 percent.
Sanders and Brown will face each other again in the general election on November 4.
In that election, Sanders will hold both the Democratic and Liberal lines, while Brown’s name will be on both the Republican and Conservative lines. This is a replay of the election two years ago, when Sanders won by a large majority.
