RMAC Festival This Weekend

Come one - come all to the 19th annual Fall Festival sponsored by the Rockaway Music and Arts Council.  People from the tri state area converge Riis Park in the Gateway National Recreation Area for a fun filled weekend.  There are interesting and informative activities for people of all ages.

We are fortunate to have two very capable and talented people leading the festival - Fern Lieberman and John Musumeci.

John Musumeci is a person with extraordinary vision and capability.  He has a flare for attracting superior talent to our events.  John loves what he does and the audiences flock to hear the varied types of music that he presented.  We are very fortunate to have John Musumeci - the best and the brightest who shares his talents with us.

Fern Lieberman is a dedicated and talented creator.  Fern reaches out far and wide through her network of gifted artisans and is able to assemble a vast array of unique individuals for the Festival.  Fern’s passion is craft fairs and she travels all over the United States to seek out specialty items and crafts that have an appeal to everyone.

This year’s Fall Festival promises to be another outstanding event.  There are a vast number of vendors with a wide variety of items.  The selection will include but not be limited to paintings, art, photography, glass blowing and sculpture.  The jewelry offered will include three types:  beautiful gold and silver, beaded and macramé.  The stained glass booths offer a wonderful assortment.  If you are seeking a gourmets delight, you will find jellies, condiments, fruits and cookies.

Be sure to arrive early so that you can spend a delightful day.  You can do all of your holiday shopping in this beautiful atmosphere. You will find specialty items that will suit everyone on your list.

Since shopping and strolling can make you hungry, the Festival does include a great food area.  The Beach Club will be back again this year by popular demand. The Good’s do a great job of preparing delicious items. In addition, we will have corn, spiral potatoes, franks, sausages, crepes, BBQ beef and much more.  Please be sure to bring along your appetite.

Sharon Gabriel will be bringing back the pony rides for the children.  Sharon does a fantastic job.  This is a very popular spot. Photos will be available to record this memorable ride.  Children will also enjoy feeding and petting the playful animals. Other delights will include face painting, puppets and sand art.

Barbara Eisenstadt is the very capable chairperson by the RMAC. Barbara generously shares her time and talent.  She is to be commended for the variety of events that are sponsored by the RMAC over the year.

Please save Thursday, April 29, 2004, for our Trinity luncheon.  We will be having our event at Russo’s on the Bay.  Frances Abbracciamento will be our dynamic and effervescent chair woman.  Everyone is invited.
