Geese Scared By Bay Work

Geese Scared By Bay Work

On September 2, Joey Gardner was watching from his Rockaway Park apartment window as dredging work began in a hope to save the Jamaica Bay marsh by spraying sand dredged from the waters.

As he watched, he noticed three large swans that must have
been frightened by the work, flying from the Bay to the beach.  They landed at Beach 108 Street and spent the whole afternoon near the surf. Gardner took a few pictures of the geese and thought that he might like to share them with the readers of The Wave. Photo by Joey Gardner
