Renew Driver’s License Online
Governor George E. Pataki has an-nounced that eligible New York drivers can now renew their driver’s li-cense by visiting New York State De-partment of Motor Vehicle’s internet website at www.nysdmv.com.
This exciting new initiative will be on display at the New York State Fair at the Department’s Fair booth, which is located at the Center for Progress Building on the Fairgrounds.
"This new online initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to making State government more accessible for all New Yorkers," Pataki said. "New Yorkers can already renew their car registration and other license documents online. And now, eligible drivers can renew their driver’s licensee right from the comfort of their own home or office."
"Our new driver’s license online renewal initiative will be on display at the Great New York State Fair throug-hout the 12-day event, and I encourage New Yorkers to stop by our DMV booth and learn more about how it works," Pataki said.
The DMV’s new online driver’s license renewal transaction is expected to quickly become one of the most popular transactions on the DMV website, allowing motorists to renew their driver’s license from their own home or office, without having to wait in line. A completed eye test report from an authorized health services provider is necessary to complete the transaction.
Customers who renew their license online will join the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers who already re-new vehicle registrations, replace lost titles and license documents, schedule road tests, order custom plates, or complete any of several other DMV transactions possible at the DMV website each year.
The new driver’s license online re-newal initiative is part of Pataki’s "Government Without Walls" initiative, which makes State government more accessible to the public by having more and more key state services available through the Internet.
