Victoria Harding, daughter of Victor and Ethel Harding, was chosen as Second Runner Up in the Miss New York American Coed Pageant, which was held the weekend of August 22 at the Parsippany Hilton. This was Harding’s second year in the pageant. Some of the other awards she received included: First Runner Up Miss Spirit, First Runner Up in the Essay Contest, Outstanding Program Participation, Best Gown, and an invitation to the National Pageant at Walt Disney World, Orlando, for placing in the top 5. Harding noted, "I had an amazing time at this year’s pageant. I can’t wait until next year’s exciting weekend of events. I would like to take this time to say a HUGE ‘Thank You!’ to all of my sponsors and supporters in the Far Rockaway and Rockaway Beach area. To all my family and friends I couldn’t have gotten this far without you." If you would like to support Harding in her efforts to become the next Miss New York Coed, at a national or state level, please contact her via e-mail at VAOH1984@aol.com. "I can’t do it without the support of all of you," said Harding.
