Kite Festival At Riis Park Delights Kids Of All Ages The annual Rockaway Kite Festival, sponsored by the Rockaway Chamber of Commerce and the Gateway National Recreation Area took place last weekend at Riis Park. The event drew thousands from all over the east coast. Pictured, some of the large kites featured at the festival.
There were many specialty kites, such as this parachutist, to draw the attention of both young children and adults.
The green at Riis Park drew not only kite-flyers, but the attention of the Fuji Blimp, on duty at the U.S. Open.
