McClancy Boys Basketball Camp A Success

McClancy Boys Basketball Camp A Success

The 21st Annual MSGR. McClancy High School Summer Basketball Camp for boys held (7-15 years old) held at the school from Monday, August 11 to Friday, August 15 was a success. Coach Don Kent, the varsity boys’ basketball coach at MSGR McClancy, has directed the camp for the past 21 years.

The bus would pick up the campers at 8 a.m. in Breezy Point and then would pick up the boys from St. Francis de Sales Parish at 8:15 a.m. in front of the school. The boys from St. Francis de Sales who attended the camp were as follows: P.J. Casey, Kyle Contino, Vincent Esposito, Patrick Kilgallen, Ryan Kilgallen, T.J. Laible, Ryan Laurain, Garrett Murnan, Stephen Pulkoski, Cody Ritter, Vincent Russo, Connor Smith, Nolan Smith, Christopher Timmins, Sean Towey, Edward Warren and Greg Vann.

The campers enjoyed the daily raffles and they participated in the one-on-one contests and the foul shooting contest. The camp was divided into three leagues based on age and ability and every boy on the winning teams received a trophy. The camp was still held on Friday after Thursday’s blackout and about 80 boys were able to make it to camp.
