Henriette Cadet nee Elysee, fille alnee de Mr. et de Mme Roland Elysse, nee a Saint Louis du Nord, le 10 Mai 1940, decedee le 2 Aout 2003 a l age de 63 ans.
Henriette elysee s etait unie a Leon Cadet. De cette union naquirent Lea Cadet Dor, Verlande Cadet Saintil, Mirleine Cadet Philmonor.
Henriette Cadet etait une personne tres sympathique, genereuse, affectueuse, son Coeur est toujours ouverte pour accueillir les autres. Elle etait tres laborieuse. C' etait une personne tres sensible, toujours prete a aider les autres. Elle etait une croyante en Christ. Elle a laisse Haiti, son pays natal depuis mars 1983, resider aux Etats Unis d' Amerique.

Willie James Campbell,
Willie James Campbell, Sr., a Rockaway resident for more than 40 years, passed away on August 4. He was 67.
Campbell, who was born in Hampton, South Carolina, served in the United States Army and worked as a heating, ventilating, air conditioning technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ella Lawton and Matthew Campbell.
Campbell is survived by his wife Marie; sons Willie James, Jr., Michael and Kenneth Campbell and Eric Miles; daughter Cheryl Wesbee; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother Matthew, Campbell; sisters Rebecca Bowles, Rose Davis and Rogenia Barnett; two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law.
A funeral mass was held at the First Church of God. Internment was at Calverton National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home.
Former Rockaway Resident
Noreen Kesecker (nee Ross), who lived in Rockaway Park for more than 25 years, died in Silver Spring, Maryland, on August 1 after a brief illness. She was 58 years old.
Kesecker was born in Rockaway Beach Hospital on August 12, 1944, a daughter of John and Jean Ross, who predeceased her. She attended St. Francis de Sales School and Stella Maris High School.
Kesecker was an Information Technology Specialist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Silver Spring, Maryland, where she worked for the past 27 years. She received numerous performance awards during her employment with NOAA.
Kesecker is survived by her husband Don; her twin sister, Eileen Smith, of Dallas, Texas; her sisters Joan McCarthy of Fishkill, New York; Carol Tansey of Rockaway Park; and Pat Kimelman of Manhattan; eight nieces and nephews and their children, and a host of loving friends.
A memorial service will be held in Kensington, Maryland on August 23, 2003.
Sales Rep, Attorney
Gerard A. Lavin, a 20-year Breezy Point resident, passed away on August 17.
Lavin was born in Brooklyn and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a sales representative in the textiles and garment industry and was also an attorney. Lavin was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Church where he was also a eucharistic minister, a trustee and a volunteer. He also volunteered at Ocean Promenade Nursing Home and in Brooklyn prisons, where he gave legal advice. He was a member of the Third Order of Carmelites and a trustee of St. Vincent Ferrer, in Flatbush.
Lavin was preceded in death by a son, Brian John Lavin.
He is survived by his wife Irene (nee Slingland) Lavin; daughters Mary Lavin DiLauro, Dr. Joanne Lavin, Dr. Claire Lavin O'Regan and Dr. Kathleen T. Lavin; sons NYPD Sergeant David George Lavin, Gerard A. Lavin and Kenneth T. Lavin.
Visitation was held at the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Rosalie Peeples, of Tarboro, North Carolina, died on August 3. She was 83.
Peeples worked in Rockaway for 15 years, and was a founder of the International Pray Band.
Peeples is survived by her sister Doris Matthews; aunts Flora Brewster and Henrietta Wiggins; three nieces; three nephews; eight grandnieces; five grandnephews, three cousins and a host of friends.
Mass was said at St Peter's Lutheran Church is Rosedale with cremation after.
William J. "Billy"
William J. "Billy" Poyle, a 40-year resident of Rockaway Park, died on August 14.
Poyle was a warehouse worker, a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the Teamsters Union and the Knights of Columbus.
Poyle is preceded in death by his wife Janice Poyle. He is survived by his daughters, Maureen and Susan Poyle; his sister, Alice Goldfarb; his brother Michael Poyle; devoted friend Peggy Englishby; brother Michael Polye; nephew James "Jamie" McKay, one of 17 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Husband and Father
Ronnie Reese, of Inwood, died on August 4. He was 44.
Reese lived in Rockaway for 35 years and was a member of the St. John Baptist Church.
Reese is survived by his parents, Lizzy May Reese and James Rawls; his stepmother Vivian Rawls, his children Kareem Harris, Anthony, Kashawn and Regina Stevenson; grandchildren Neja and Christopher Bonds and Anthony Stevenson; 8 brothers, 6 sisters and a host of family and friends.

Santiago Rosado, a new resident of the Rockaways, died on August 15.
He was an Army Veteran who was born in Puerto Rico and a member of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Rosado is survived by his wife Eva Rosa Rosado; sons Luis and Rafael; daughters Nivia and Sonia; brothers Pedro Alverio, Ismael Sanchez and Jose Luis Sanchez and sister Maria Burgos.
Visitation was at the Denis. S. O'Connor Funeral Home, with interment after.
Agnes Ruddick, Broad Channel resident for 57 years, passed away on August 16. She was 75.
Ruddick was a member of the St. Virgilius Rosary Society.
She is survived by her husband Arthur Ruddick; sons Patrick, Michael, and Arthur; daughter Arlene Smith and 10 grandchildren.
Mass was said at St. Virgilius with interment at St. John's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hillebrand's Funeral Home.
Edward P. Scott, a 59-year Rockaway resident, died on July 4. He was a member of St. Edmunds and a retired administrative assistant for the Mercantile Exchange.
Scott is survived by brother Eugene Scott; sister Barbara Bruder; nephews Kurt and Paul (Esilda) Bruder; niece Jeanne Marie Bruder and brother-in-law Donald Bruder. He is preceded in death by nephew Mark Bruder.

Andrea A. Taylor, a lifelong resident of Rockaway, died on July 13. She was 34.
Taylor, a security officer, is survived by mother Delores Maddicks; children Kiara, Amir and Stardasha; brothers John Taylor (Sally), John Jr. Steve, Derrick and Musango, and a host of family and friends.
