St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore and Healthfirst are hosting the Seaside Summer Health Fair for children and teens on Saturday, August 23, 2003, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at O’Donohue Park, located at Seagirt Boulevard and Beach 17th Street in Far Rockaway.
There will be free health screenings, rope trick demonstrations and pony rides by the Federation of Black Cowboys, face painting, popcorn, soda and much more. The screenings include: asthma, blood pressure; diabetes; podiatry; height/weight; body mass index; and scoliosis. For pediatric screenings children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
There will be free information on health insurance, nutrition, and social services and more. Additional participants include: Cyberzone, Caribbean Women’s Health, Catholic Charities, MultiViz, the New York City Department of Health, Pepsi, PRYSE, and the Wave.
