Money Available For Cultural Programs
Queens Community Arts Fund, a program of the Queens Council on the Arts has been awarded over $149,000 from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Greater New York Arts Development of Cultural Affairs, and the New York State on the Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, to grant out to the community for cultural programming.
The Queens Community Arts Fund offers Queens based not-for-profit cultural organizations and individual artists the opportunity to apply for funding, to help them pursue their artistic dream, through a competitive process ensuring the highest quality of arts activities and services in Queens County.
Applications for the 2004 Queens Community Arts Fund, outlining complete eligibility requirements, are now available, with an application deadline on October 1, 2003. All applicants are now required to attend one workshop prior to application submission.
An upcoming seminar for individuals is set for Tuesday, August 19, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rockaway Artists Alliance, Building T6, Gateway National Recreation Area. TReturning applicants should attend the seminar on Wednesday, August 20 at Queens Borough Hall, 120-55 Queens Blvd., Kew Gardens.
Organizations are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and individuals from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
