If this isn’t enough to please your best friend of all friends, Crunchkins has designed new custom edible dog greeting cards, called "Crunch Cards," made of flattened rawhide panel imprinted with non-toxic ink and packaged with brightly colored envelops for mailing with everyday and holiday greetings; one from Santa Paws. If you don’t have a pet but do have a child you may prefer the new Spelling Bee put out by the well known, Pockets of Learning that helps the baby two years and up learn the alphabet, spelling and reading with 26 pictures and two syllable words in a soft cloth bag with letters, velcro attached, in a zipped up carrying pouch.

Great for traveling in the car or just about anywhere.

Swarovski Crystals held a Gala Chic event at their Penthouse headquarters on 8 Street. and Broadway, NYC. Delicious sparkling (by lighted ice cubes) blue and pink vodka cocktails were served along with delicate passed around hor’s d’oeuvres. As you entered the penthouse the room sparkled all over. It was startling to see two gorgeous, (and I really mean gorgeous) models: one brunette with nothing on but paint, sparkling paint…….painted so artistically you would swear she was wearing a light chiffon colorfully printed dress. The blonde on the other side might just as well have been wearing nothing perched in her see-through white chiffon gown, both decorated in sparkling crystals. Pretty youth of the Fashion World filled the room and admired the glass Swarovski crystals encased in glass in the middle of the room. The upper duplex level, replete with outdoor pool, was where I was temporarily crystal tattooed on my chest. At Studio "J", Janet extracted two and placed them on my two Janet designed nails. (Her manicures last over three weeks). And, by the way, if you are a competent hair stylist there is an empty chair at Studio J waiting to be filled by you. Stop by the busy parking free Surfside shopping area and have a talk with Janet. (See Ad).

A super 60th Birthday surprise party was held for Hell-ga (as she calls herself) Schneider on Bedford Ave., Saturday night. Walter and Helen Walden held the party at their home with the help of hubby, Jimmy Schneider. Hell-ga was so pleased her family in Germany called to wish her well. Her three sisters-in-law were there: Mary and son, Jon Giacobbe -Lee who recently graduated and will be attending Fordham University to become a Pediatrician; Lynn Bensai and Margie Acosta and their children were the other sisters-in-law. Among the fifty guests were: Lilly and John Regina of Graham Walk, Jennifer McHugh and Bob O’Brien. Nice people, music, dancing and lots of food made a fun, fun time. Congratulations, Hell-ga... May you keep this birthday tucked in your memory bank with many more to follow.

On my way to Kennedy’s, I met Frank and Nancy Heffernan and children who were visiting Frank’s parents from Beach 216 Street. Missed Jor Kilbride at Kennedy’s. He was in Boston to root for his beloved Red Sox . Vera Lynch and John Gavin were having brunch and mentioned the nice turnout for the Neil Simon show at the Parish Hall two weeks ago. Be sure to make it next year.

Have you been to the Breezy Surf Shop? By all means you must take a look at the wonderful array of clothes and items you can buy there. And, what is so great is that they all are less expensive than any surf shop in the Rockaways. Don’t go anywhere until you check out his prices and the beautiful men’s printed Hawaiian shirts, little bathing baby shoes, and bathing suits from tots to adults for men and women. along with skirts and blouses. Owner, Donld Ritter has stocked up on skim boards and sun glasses and so many more items than I can mention. If you are not a resident of the Cooperative you can still get a pass to get by the gate if you tell them you re just there to shop at the Breezy Surf Shop. Check it out! Guaranteed you will be glad you did.

VOTF (Voice of the Faithful) reports Bishop Daly’s resignation to be followed by the installation of Bishop DiMaggio of Camden, N.J. Though Daly forbade VOTF members from meeting on Church property, this decision has since been overturned and a more positive relationship has been established and the Diocese will now share the common cause to ensure justice and compassion for sexually abused victims.
