NYPD Takes Stolen Automobiles From The Bay The inlets of Jamaica Bay that touch on Bayswater Park have long been a dumping ground for stolen and discarded automobiles and boats. Recently, units from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) worked for many hours to clean out the cars and boats. Pictured, police officers stand by while some cars are towed from the bay.
A number of sunken boat wrecks were recovered by SCUBA divers working with the tow trucks.
