Both Precincts To Celebrate NNOAC August 5
Next Tuesday, August 5, the Community Councils of both the 100 and 101 precincts will simultaneously celebrate National Night Out Against Crime (NNOAC).
Although the celebrations will be very different, they are planned with the same purpose, to fight back against crime.
Stationed primarily at the Beach Club on Beach 116 Street, with the slogan We’re Giving Crime A "Going Away Party", the 100 Precinct has a full day of activities planned that range from rides and raffles to safety oriented activities such as a bike identification program and Safewise Kids, a free children’s photo identification program, sponsored by Allstate Insurance, which will take place at the Beach Club at 4:30 p.m. With a live band for inspiration, children, teens and adults are urged to help repaint the Shack Attack lifeguard shack on Beach 117 Street from noon to 4 p.m. A fireworks display will cap off the evening at 9 p.m.
From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Beach 17 Street and the Boardwalk, the 101 Precinct Community Council will hold its own "exciting" National Night Out Against Crime program. Officials at the 101 Precinct and its community council promise fun, refreshments and music and ask residents to "join us for live music and dancing under the stars!"
