Post Hosted Birthday Party For Veterans

Post Hosted Birthday Party For Veterans

On Sunday, July 13, the Daniel M. O’Connell Post 272 of the American Legion hosted an "Everyone’s Birthday Party" for over forty residents of the St. Albans Veteran’s Hospital rehabilitation facility and nursing home. This is a semi-annual event where the guests are treated to a dinner, entertainment, and various gifts. Volunteers from the Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, and the community helped to make this event possible. The next function honoring the Veterans will be held in January 2004 for the "Three Kings" holiday celebration. American Legion Post 272 would appreciate donations of new clothing (e.g., socks, underclothing, t-shirts, sweatshirts, toiletries, etc.). Please contact the Post if you are an individual or business interested in making a generous donation. These veterans, who served the United States of America honorably, appreciate the public’s support. Pictured is volunteers assisting a guest off the bus.
