Lucy M. Concepcion


Lucy M. Concepcion, a lifelong resident of Far Rockaway, passed away on July 7. Conception worked as a hairstylist at a beauty salon, and was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima church.

Conception is survived by her son Ricardo Rodriguez (Vicky), daughter Madeline Weiner, sisters, Zaida Concepcion, Awilda Reyes, and Taty Velez, brothers Luis Cortez, Harry Gonzalez, and Orlando Velez. She also had three grandchildren; Robero, Alexa and Taty ana.

Visitation was at The Denis S. O'Con­nor funeral home on July 9. Burial at St. Charles Cemetery on July 10.

Irene Henderer

Irene Henderer, a Rockaway resident for 63 years, passed away on July 5. Henderer was a homemaker and parishioner of St. Camillus Church, where she was a member of the St. Camillus Seniors.

Henderer, was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Henderer, her son Joseph Henderer, and her daughter Patricia Terino. Henderer was survived by daughters Anne Giglio, Carol Walker and Irene Utecht, and son Edmund Henderer. She also had 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held at the Denis S. O'Connor funeral home. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Margaret M. McMahon (nee Nolan)
Summer Resident

Margaret M. McMahon died on June 24. She was a native of the Bronx and spent summers with her family in Rockaway Park.

She moved to Fla in the late 70s. She was a lifelong New York Giants fan and attended two Super Bowls, once seeing her beloved Giants beat the Bills.

McMahon is survived by two daughters, Maria DeMeo of Towson , Md; Margaret Murphy of Manhattan, and two granddaughters, Jane Murphy of Brentwood, Calif and Anna DeMeo of Manhattan.

A memorial service will be held in late September at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Manhattan. Father John Reynolds, a childhood friend from the Highbridge section of the Bronx, will officiate.

Edward P. Scott
Administrative Assistant

Edward P. Scott, a lifelong resident of Far Rockaway, passed away on July 4.

Scott was a retired administrative assistant at the Mercantile Exchange of New York City and a member of St. Edmunds Church in Breezy Point.

He was preceded in death by nephew Mark Bruder. Scott was survived by sister Barbara Bruder, brother Eugene Scott, and brother in law Donald Bruder, along with nephews Kurt Bruder, Mark Bruder, Paul Bruder (Esilda), and niece Jeanne Marie Bruder. Scott also was survived by his great niece and great nephew Emily and Andrew Bruder.

Burial was held at St. Charles Cemetery.
