St. Edmund Prep Performs ‘Grease’

The St. Edmund Prep High School Drama Society recently performed their Spring musical "Grease" under the direction of David Kirk, religion teacher, and student director Victoria DelGuidice. All sold out performance ended with standing ovations.

The musical director was John Malazzo. The orchestra included Glenn Balck on piano, Rich Peters on saxophone, Don Albano on guitar, Elyssa Asunshine on bass, and Steve Liotta on drums.

Costume coordinator was the school nurse Kathy DeMello. Art teachers Phil Fama and Mr. Malafronte, along with the construction crew and scenic design crew made up of students spent numerous hours constructing the set for the production.

The cast: Catherine Reilly – Miss Lynch; Jessica Archetto – Patty Simcox and Radio Voice; James Neas – Eugene Florczyk; Erin Castner – Jan; Dina Castner – Marty; Caitlin Gregg – Betty Rizzo; Scott O’Donnell – Doody; Sal Sciacca – Roger; Anthony Best – Kenickle; Lee Baptiste – Sonny LaTierre; Joe Robinson – Sammy, Johnny Casino and Teen Angel; Loren Avellino – Frenchy; Anne Marie Weinberger – Sandy Dumbrowski; Louis Guida – Danny Zuko; Anthony Tedaldi – Vince Fontaine; Victoria DelGuidice – Cha-Cha DiGregorio and "Swing" Dancer; Aditi Vaz – "Swing" Dancer and production assistant.

Administration and faculty members also participating by lending their voice. John Lorenzetti, school principal, as the Hero’s Voice; James Poyers, guidance counselor as the Scientist’s Voice; Susan Moquin, English teacher as Sheila’s Voice; and Joan Kow kabany, English teacher as the Girl’s Voice.

Malazzo and Moquin are Rockaway residents.
