Spring Show Presented By St. Joachim’s Students Pictured Carl Laguerre of Liberty (Sister Mary Claire Rhatigan), Yasmine Buckley (as Martha Washington), And Brianne Garcia (Betsy Ross).
On Friday, May 16, St. Joachim’s School in Cedarhurst presented their Spring Show, "U.S.A., You’re OK," under the direction of Sr. Mary Claire Rhatigan. In these troubled times in our country, the children of St. Joachim, a multicultural school, thought about, sang about, and were grateful for all the wonderful blessings of our country. The show started with the March of Flags by the Kindergarten and First Grade. They then sang "God Bless America." Each grade took an aspect of our country to celebrate, including the pioneers moving west, important citizens, and various styles of music played in our country. They ended with "The Lord Is Your Lord." Many parents and grandparents attended the show and were very proud of their little "stars." Many of the students attending St. Joachim’s live in Far Rockaway.
