PHC Welcomes Organ Donor Network
The Peninsula Hospital Center Auxiliary welcomed the New York Organ Donor Network to a recent meeting. Representing the New York Organ Donor Network was Joy A. Oppedisano, a hospital services specialist. She discussed the importance of organ donating and the ways that it saves lives. Oppedisano brought Robert Gabe of the Long Island Chapter of the Transplant Recipients International Organization. Gabe received a heart transplant six years ago. The next PHC Auxiliary meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at Noon in the Meditation Room. It will feature a discussion on women’s health issues, including Bone Density, Mammograms, and Breast Cancer Support. All interested parties are welcome to attend each luncheon and encouraged to join the Auxiliary. Further information on the Auxiliary is available from the Peninsula Hospital Center’s Public Affairs office, 718 734-2506.
