Library Summer Program

Library Summer Program

The Queens Borough Public Library has a full schedule set up with dozens of activities, performances, prizes and parties for the summer, all of which are free to anyone who wants to attend. The theme for this year is "Picture This, Imagine That".

Children too young to be able to read can join a club called "Read to Me", in which they pick out books to be read aloud by a reading buddy. School age kids and teens can join reading discussion groups with others who are at the same level. There is a Chess Club, a Computer Club, crafts, film festivals, and a video teleconferences with NASA for those who are interested. Certificates will be issued at the end of the summer so students get schools credit for the books they have read.

To sign up for clubs or programs, just show up! For a schedule of meeting dates and times, may call 718-990-0705.

Participating local libraries are Arverne Branch 312 Beach 54 Street, Broad Channel Branch, 16-26 Cross Bay Boulevard, Far Rockaway Branch, 1637 Central Avenue, Peninsula Branch, at 92-25 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, and Seaside Branch, 116-15 Rockaway Beach Boulevard.
