Harvey Bernstein, 1927 - 2003

We lost our dear friend and colleague, Harvey Bernstein, this week. Harvey was our advisor, our mentor, and a manager at The Wave for more than ten years in the 1980’s and early 90’s. Harvey was always on the go, always hard at work. His hard work his good nature and expertise helped The Wave to grow during the years he was in Rockaway and to maintain that growth long after he left for retirement in Florida. Although he retired, he kept in close contact with The Wave family and was always ready and willing to advise and assist The Wave in any way he could. Harvey never really considered himself retired. He kept busy by publishing a newspaper in his Florida retirement community. I have known Harvey all my life. He married my sister Shirley shortly after I was born. He was always smiling, always joking and always ready with a helping hand. His son, Sandy, took over where Harvey left off. We will all miss him.
