Town Hall Meeting Scheduled For 6/12
New York State Senator Malcolm A. Smith has announced that he will be hosting an important town hall meeting in the Rockaways to hear people’s concerns about local transportation issues.
The meeting is being held on June 12, at 6:30 p.m., at Far Rockaway High School.
"We are on a fact-finding mission," Senator Smith said. "I am very interested in finding out the transportation concerns of the people here in Queens. I am very hopeful that we will hear what’s on people’s minds and walk away with a better idea of what needs to be addressed."
Smith, who chairs the Southeast Queens Transportation Advisory Committee, said the Town Hall meeting will be co-hosted by Assemblywoman Michelle Titus.
Among the specific issues that will be addressed at the meeting are: bus stop safety, LIRR station safety, vending ticket machines, upgrading service, increase in fares, and city ticket and private bus service.
