Christian Academy Students Going To VA

Christian Academy Students Going To VA

The Church of God Christian Academy in Far Rockaway is bound for the International Student Convention in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Every year academically qualified students, thirteen years and older, attend the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) Regional Convention hosted by Word of Life Ministries, at Schroon Lake, N.Y.

Students from A.C.E. schools in the Northeast compete over a five-day period in various areas of competition, including academics, bible memory, athletics, music, photography, woodshop, tennis, archery, chess, volleyball, and basketball.

This year the students receive awards in 32 different categories (4 first place, 6 second place, 3 third place, 5 fourth place, 6 fifth place, 8 sixth place); thus qualifying to compete at the A.C.E. International Convention.

The Academy is dedicated to providing a balanced curriculum to their students. The children are constantly challenged to a high standard of achievement. The Student Convention gives them an opportunity to "show off their staff."
