If you don’t want to miss your chance to support the Hammel Senior Center, and add to your art collection, you should buy a few raffle tickets now.

Original water-mixable oil paintings, and a hand made sweater, all made by Hammel Senior Center participants, will be raffled on June 24. All of the proceeds go to supporting the art class.

"They need to do some fundraising because the city provides the teacher, but they need to find the money for supplies on their own," said the center’s director, Janet Brady, who added that art is, "one of the most popular programs we have."

Raffle tickets are $1 apiece, 6 for $5. Call 718-634-4047 for more information, or stop by the center located at 90-01 Rockaway Beach Boulevard.
