Flowers Plucked At Beach 116 Florist

Flowers Plucked At Beach 116 Florist

One of three Ornamental Hibiscus flowers decorating George’s Florist on Beach 116 Street was recently stolen, and the following night, plaster was poured in the hole left in the potted soil.

Norman Block, manager of George’s, has filed a compliant with the 100 Precinct. Besides the financial loss (the Hibiscus is an expensive variety), Block said he is also annoyed and disappointed because the vandalism defaced his nicely kept storefront.

Block said he believes the same individual that yanked the flowers is responsible for pouring the plaster as well. The 100 Precinct told Block that they would keep a closer eye on his store, he said.
