Get those beach chairs, blankets, walking sneakers, and snacks ready-the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is coming Saturday June seventh.

The overnight celebration of hope, progress, and answers, which honors the nearly nine million Americans who have survived their battle with the disease, will again be held at Beach Channel High School. The participation fee is $10, but many will contribute more to the society by collecting donations. Last year, Rockaway survivors, their family, and friends raised more than $50,000 for the cause.

You can register for the rain or shine event right up until it begins at 6 p.m. on the seventh. For more information call 718-263-2225 ext. 26 and speak to local ACS Director of Special Events Leslie Orlovsky. Visit www.cancer.org/ relayonline for more further details.
