It’s a new DAWN for the Norwegian Cruise Line sailing a luxury cruse ship for the first time in many years all year round out of New York City. Just think, you will be able to climb aboard the Dawn without facing airport lines and waiting through customs to be transported to your cruise vessel. You can sail away in the middle of Dec and Jan., the coldest months of the year, to warm sunny skies within a day right from New York City homeport.

I boarded the ms Dawn this past weekend and found it to be a tremendous as well as tremendously beautiful ship with very special features, such as a pretty little wedding chapel with a capacity of 120 guests; a Penthouse Garden Villa with three bedroom suites offering all glass views of the ocean, living rooms and butler service to pack and unpack your bags and serve your meals; large bathrooms with tubs and a spacious outside garden with a large square tented hot tub, comfy chairs and hammocks, plants and flowers…….fit for royalty. Anytime you wish to live like a king or queen feel free to book it Take along family and/or friends to help split the fare……..7 days $30,000. Now don’t jam up my phones. You can always e-mail me. It sails every Sun. on a 7 day, R/T NY cruise to Florida and Bahamas.

The Italian Trade Commission informed the press about the Lombardy Region in Italy, its’ marvelous vineyards and special cheeses, at a cocktail/dinner party at Le Cirque (which, by the way, I understand, some people avoid because it is a French restaurant. This so-called "French" restaurant, is really considered Italian because of its Italian fare. That should mean a "fare" adjustment in their thinking). Anthony Dias Blue, noted wine and food critic for Bon Appetit magazine and WCBS radio served as moderator while George Pozzi and other officials of the regional government provided an overview of Lombardy’s powerful economy. The officials were visiting New York in connection with the Furniture show at the Javits Center (over 60 Italian companies) most from Lombardy. "Milan, the capital of Lombardy is more of powerhouse than most realize,, said Italian Commission, Roberto Luongo.

Congratulations to Frances Abbracciamento who turned ninety recently (I’ll have more info on that next week). Coming up soon, Aug. 1, Grace Someck will celebrate her 93rd birthday. Good health and many more quality years ahead to both.

Bruce Angel of Breezy told me his cousin, Cassie Freese of Breezy, married Matty Mullholland at St. Edmunds Church last Friday with their reception at Bay View Yacht Club in Island Park. The reception lasted till midnight and guests were entertained by the Kerry Kearney Band who have played at BB Kings with Boston Live and on Altman Brothers Tour. He also owns the King Jones Music Store on Flatbush Ave. They also had Rudolf’s DJ, "Shake it Up," an alternate to the Live band. The food was fabulous.

Cassie and Matty received a Hawaiian Honeymoon from the "Boss". Congratulations and happy life together.

Safe Horizon organization, the non-profit benefit 25 Anniversary Champion Award Luncheon I wrote about last week held at the Waldorf. Event Chair and Vice Chair of Safe Horizons presented Bruce Klatsky CEO of Philips Van Heusen Corp. the 2003 Champion Award. Honored Guest speaker was Gavin De Becker, violence and fear expert and best selling author of Fearless. Safe Horizon is just what it says ….a safe horizon for victims. If you’re a victim and find yourself in a fearful position call their hot line 800-866-629-help.
