After and intense meeting with numerous PSAL Boys’ Tennis Coaches, the B Division Bracket was ready for competition. Sixteen teams earned the honor of participating in the 2003 B Division Tennis Championships. In the Round of 16, Four Brackets of four teams—"P","S","A", and "L"—each started play on Monday, May 12 . The Beach Channel Dolphins (9-1 Queens B II) were seeded Second in the "L" Bracket of the main draw. They hosted Grover Cleveland High School (6-4 Queens B III) in the First Round of the Playoffs on a very windy afternoon.

Overcoming early anxiety, Beach Channel quickly put themselves in a familiar position—in the lead. After an hour and a half of play, the Dolphins emerged 5-0 winners. Highlights included Timothy Ramchatesingh’s First Singles win over Kamrul Islam, 10-7, and Gabriel Martinez’s 10-3 win over Klaudio Luka in Second Singles. Sebastian Stefaniak, hampered by leg cramps at the beginning of his match, won alongside Norbert Kosobudzki in First Doubles by a score of 10-6. Soslan Dambegov was victorious in his match, 10-5, with 7 Aces, improving his single season record to 120 Aces in 11 Undefeated Matches. Imran Kahn and Jahvis Ferguson closed out the scoring with a 10-3 win of their own. The team won by a score of 5-0 for the sixth time this season. They hope to continue their winning ways on Wednesday, May 14th as they travel to Brooklyn to face #1 Seed, Fort Hamilton (8-1 Brooklyn B I). Fort Hamilton defeated #4 Seed Newcomers (5-5 Queens B III) by a score of 4-1 in five very close matches.
