P.S. 225 Fifth Graders Celebrates Arbor Day
While the second graders were busy celebrating Arbor Day at Gateway Environmental Study Center, Mr. Funtleyder and his fifth graders joined in Arbor Day tree planting at P.S. 225Q, The Seaside School. Funtleyder and his class planted their first Arbor Day tree, donated by the NYS Urban and Community Forestry Council. The fifth graders have virtually started a garden in their classroom complete with flowers and vegetables. Funtleyder’s class plans to transplant their garden to Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Their Arbor Day tree, along with their Red Emperor tulips are the beginning of what they hope will be a beautiful community garden. Stay tuned!
