Peninsula Hospital Center (PHC) recently hosted the Annual Spring Luncheon at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach, honoring two "Nurses of Distinction," Alfred Lopez, RN, of the Critical Care Unit in the Hospital Center, and Milagros Diaz, RN, of the Adult Day Care Center in Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation (PCECR). "These two nurses, chosen by their peers and managers, stand out as exemplary of the care and professionalism we strive to achieve," commented Geralyn Randazzo, RN, Vice President of Nursing at PHC. Many members of the Board of Directors, administration, medical staff, volunteers and auxiliaries attended the event, along with representation from the nursing staff sponsored by the esteemed medical staff. "It is always a pleasure honoring our nursing staff," stated Joel A. Miele Sr., P.E., Chairman of the Board of Directors at PHC. "It is their caring, compassion and personal touch that makes us shine", he added. "On behalf of the Board of Directors, Administration, and staff at the hospital center, I congratulate our much-appreciated Nurses of Distinction and thank everyone who supported the luncheon."
